500 ml cook pumpkin
250 ml sifted flour
10 m baking powder
2 ml Salt
1 egg, beaten
Oil
SYRUP
15 ml butter
375 ml sugar
200 ml milk
15 ml corn flour (maziena)
175 ml cold water
Mash the pumpkin. Add the flour, baking powder, salt and egg and mix well. Add spoonfuls to hot oil and fry until brown on both sides.
For the sauce: Heat butter, sugar and milk over until boiling point. Mix maziena with cold water to a paste and add to the milk mixture. Mix well. Pour syrup over pumpkin fritters.
Serve hot.
