It is suggested that this is made in winter and kept until summer .... well it never lasts that long!!
• Juice of 10 oranges • Juice of 10 lemons • Grated rid of oranges • 3kg white sugar • 6 litres boiling water • 25ml tartaric acid • 5ml salt
Mix all the ingredients together, heat to boiling point, pour through a sieve and bottle immediately in hot bottles. Cork the bottles with corks that have been soaked in boiling water and dip the top of the bottle in melted candle wax to seal.
