60 ml butter
250 ml caster sugar
3 eggs
250 ml Flour
5 ml baking powder
pinch salt
65 ml milk
1 x 410 gram tinned Pie apples
Preheat oven to 160 deg C.
Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition.
Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into the butter mixture.
Pour mixture into a well greased, oven proof pie dish.
Arrange the pie apples on top. Bake for 30-40 minutes.
SYRUP:
Mix together:
180 ml sugar
65 ml butter
125 ml milk or cream
Microwave the syrup ingredients 5 - 10 minutes until it thickens. Stir occationally.
Pour syrup over apple pie when it comes out of the oven and decorate with flaked almonds. Serve with cream.
