500g minced lamb
1 grated onion
1" grated ginger
1 large clove garlic crushed
handfull of breadcrumbs
1 heaped tsp of ground coriander
1 heaped tsp of ground cumin
salt
1 egg
Combine all the above ingredients and form into small balls.
Roll the balls in flour and fry.
TOMATO GRAVY
1 can tomatoes or some fresh, skinned tomatoes
1 chopped onion
1 clove garlic
some grated ginger
1 tsp coriander
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp sugar
salt
1 small can of coconut milk/cream
Fry the onion, garlic, ginger for a bit
add the spices and fry about 2 mins
add the tomatoes and simmer until the sauce is quite thick
add the coconut milk
Place the lamb kofta in the sauce and heat or serve the sauce separate.
Delish with basmati rice and/or naan bread.
You can add garam masala or a fresh chopped chilli if you want it spicy or even just add a tsp of curry powder to the tomato gravy.
